Professor Darryl Shore
Consultant cardiac surgeon, Professor at Imperial College London
Professor Darryl Shore is a consultant cardiac surgeon based at Royal Brompton Hospital, where he treats both private and NHS patients.
He was previously a consultant at Southampton General Hospital, before joining Royal Brompton Hospital as a consultant cardiac surgeon in 1987. He has held a variety of senior management positions and is currently acting director of the heart division at Royal Brompton Hospital.
In 2013, Professor Shore became an adjunct professor at the National Heart and Lung Institute, recognising his contribution and close working relationship with Imperial College London. Then in 2018, Professor Shore was promoted to the role of professor of practice (congenital cardiac surgery).
Professor Darryl Shore is internationally recognised as an expert in the surgical management of adults with congenital heart disease.
He is experienced in many areas of cardiothoracic surgery, including:
- coronary artery disease
- aortic and aortic valve disease
- congenital heart disease.
Professor Darryl Shore is the author, or co-author, on many papers on congenital heart surgery. He has delivered many lectures on this subject worldwide.
