RB&HH Specialist Care collaborates closely with a range of partners, agents, hospitals and consultants to give first-class medical treatment to patients from across the world.

Increasingly, international patients are seeking treatment at Royal Brompton and Harefield hospitals to take advantage of our unique and specialist expertise and advanced technologies.

If you are an agent or hospital from outside of the UK, read the below to find out what we can offer:

Management of overseas referrals

Doctor with an arabic patient

Our international patient coordinators at Royal Brompton and Harefield hospitals collaborate with healthcare organisations to ensure a seamless referral pathway for patients seeking heart and lung care in the UK.

We can help organise appointments and issue invitation letters for treatment (which help secure visas for travel to the UK). We can also coordinate the exchange of medical records amongst healthcare professionals, book accommodation and arrange interpreters during the patient’s stay.

To refer a patient, complete an online form, email: international@rbht.nhs.uk or call: +44 (0)20 7351 8471 or +44 (0)7483 338166.

Remote second opinions for medical treatment

We can provide a remote second opinion service to overseas patients. Our expert consultants will review the patient’s medical reports and diagnostic tests, and provide their medical recommendation that can be shared with the patient’s doctor. This can be done via email, telephone or online using a range of platforms.

Clinical training and visiting doctors programme

Consultants in theater monitoring

We offer observership and clinical fellowship programmes within our hospitals, enabling international doctors to develop their expertise in heart and lung care.

We also provide a visiting doctors programme where our consultants undertake a short visit to work alongside local consultants. During the visit, our consultant can help run outpatient clinics, operate on any appropriate patient cases, participate in clinical discussions and undertake CME lectures. Emergency visits can be organised on a case-by-case basis.

Our consultants work extensively with academic institutions around the world to find and develop new ways of treating heart and lung disease.

In addition, our clinicians regularly travel to different countries to give talks on our latest surgical techniques and procedures.

If you’d like to invite one of our consultants to speak at a conference or would like to collaborate on joint research, please email us and we can help to arrange this.
