Biography

Ms Emma Beddow is a consultant thoracic surgeon who treats private and NHS patients at Harefield Hospital.

She studied medicine between 1989 and 1994 at London Hospital Medical College (now part of Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry). She continued her training and became a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1998.

Between 2000 and 2006, she was a specialist registrar in thoracic surgery for the north London rotation.

In December 2006, Ms Beddow was appointed a consultant thoracic surgeon at Harefield Hospital.

Ms Emma Beddow attends European conferences to present scientific papers and share the latest expertise on thoracic conditions.

In addition, overseas doctors visit Royal Brompton & Harefield Hospitals to observe the techniques and clinical approach of Ms Beddow and her colleagues.

Ms Emma Beddow has co-authored Cardiothoracic Surgery, a handbook for surgeons which is published by the Oxford University Press.
