Biography

Dr Margarita Brida trained in cardiology at University Hospital Centre Zagreb, Croatia. She specialised in internal medicine and cardiology and underwent sub-specialisation in adult congenital heart disease at Royal Brompton Hospital, London and University Hospital Muenster, Germany.

Dr Brida is fully trained in general adult cardiology with expertise in valvular heart disease, adult congenital heart disease, and echocardiography. Before joining Royal Brompton Hospital as a consultant, she was the lead of the tertiary centre for adult congenital heart disease at the University Hospital Centre Zagreb. She is currently chairperson elect of the European Society of Cardiology working group on adult congenital heart disease.

Publications

Assistant Prof Margarita Brida serves as an associate editor for the leading cardiology European Heart Journal and International Journal of Cardiology Congenital Heart Disease. She is a reviewer for all major journals in the cardiovascular field and an author in peer-reviewed journals (including papers in Circulation, JACC, and European Heart Journal).

She has written many chapters for highly regarded cardiology textbooks and is one of the three editors-in-chief for the fourth edition of the textbook ‘Adult Congenital Heart Disease: Diagnosis and Management.’
